为全面把握湖南城市体系的运演规律,本文对其结构特征作了进一步的探讨:通过时序数据和截面数据的回归分析、图表分析和统计分析,结合分形理论,得出了其等级规模结构分布呈现出首位分布、位序?规模分布和金字塔结构特征,以及存在着高层次城市发展不足的问题;运用场引力模型发现该省主要城市间的经济联系强度较弱、结构松散,在归纳出该省城市经济发展水平的层次体系、产业结构演变的基础上,导出了该省城市体系的五大城市群职能组合;结合空间结构体系、路网交通条件和经济发展状况,对该省城市空间分布状态进行了定性分析,研究表明该省总体上处于极化阶段,各个具体区域,分布阶段不一,差异较大。
